OMG I just had the most perfect day. The roads were good so I drove to a waterfall hike not expecting much, and I was blown away by the most spectacular winter wonderland. The drive there had me screaming from excitement as my eyes feasted on snow covered mountains, icicles bigger than me, snow covered trees up in the sky, and snowy rocks in the Columbia River. By the time I reached my destination my eyes were welling with tears of joy. This is what it feels like to be alive. To see something so beautiful it makes every problem in your life feel insignificant. Even though it was a blistering 22°F with a vicious wind (why my face is so red haha), I could not contain my excitement and I started yelping with joy when I got out of the car and felt the soft powdery snow under my feet. And snowy frozen waterfalls are my new favorite thing! I’m a winter woman through and through. Snow, I love you forever and always. You remind me of the beauty of life, and my heart sings a symphony for you ❄️

The past few months have been hard for me. I lost a close family member last year, and living through all the anniversary dates really brought my grief to the surface. In the last few months I’ve seen my usual bubbly, positive, and upbeat nature often take a backseat to a more melancholy and emotional nature. This has been quite an experience to navigate as it’s so new to me. I am okay. But often times I’m also not okay. And that is okay too. I am doing my best to accept where I am, and to not put pressure on myself to hurry my healing along and “fix it.” I am exactly where I am meant to be. But I am also trying to find more joy in the present moment. I just discovered Astrix. And I danced to their music for the first time today. Even though I filmed part of it for you, my lovely supporters, I still danced like no one was watching. Within mere minutes, seconds even, my spirits were lifted and I was grinning for real. I carried that energy with my through the remainder of my day. My time with @stephinspace really inspired me. Seeing her dedication to her yoga and mindfulness practice and her joy in the present moment affirmed the calling I’ve already felt towards more presence and healing practices. I also loved the music she shared with me (I’ll have to dance to it another time)! So here I am, just letting my spirit sore. Through all phases of life lies the opportunity for growth. And when we embrace that opportunity instead of resisting it the possibilities are endless ♡
